Terry Eugene Bollea, better known by his ring name Hulk Hogan was born on August 11, 1953, in Augusta, Georgia, the USA to parents Pietro Peter Bollea (a construction foreman) and Ruth V. Moody (a dance teacher).

Hulk Hogan and his family moved to Port Tampa, Florida, when he was one and a half years old. Hulk Hogan was a pitcher in Little League Baseball during his childhood, however, an injury ended his baseball career.

With regards to his educational background, Hulk Hogan attended Hillsborough Community College. He later proceeded to the University of South Florida from where he dropped out to focus on music.

Hulk Hogan rose to prominence as a wrestler and won his first wrestling championship after defeating Bob Roop for the ‘NWA Southeastern Heavyweight Championship’ in 1979.
