Diego Andrés González Boneta is a Mexican actor, producer, and singer. He gained wider recognition after starring in Rock of Ages alongside Tom Cruise and in the Netflix biographical series Luis Miguel: The Series. He recorded his self-titled debut album with his first single, “Responde” in 2005.

Boneta was born in Mexico City, the son of two engineers, Lauro González, born in Mexico City, and Astrid Boneta, born in the United States of Puerto Rican and Spanish origin.

His mom was a US citizen and pertains to the Spanish, and Puerto Rican lineage, however, his dad was a Mexican. Diego Boneta is the eldest among his other 2 siblings Santiago, and Natalia Boneta.

Diego Boneta gives all the credit for his success, melodic talents, and wide recognition to his Granddad, Otto Boneta who was a psychiatrist, lyricist, and song composer. In 2005, he premiered his very first album collection in Brazil, Mexico, and Chile, named Diego, amid his stretch in Rebelde.
